Ukhrul Police on Saturday checked shops to monitor sale of tobacco products at Ukhrul Town and found few shops selling tobacco products and alcohol.  

The goods were seized and burnt in the presence of the media at Ukhrul Police Station. The seized goods include betel leaves, zarda, talab, khaini, IMFL and local made liquor. 

The team was led by additional SP (Law and Order), Luther Nangsha, OC Ukhru PS, N Duidang and SI W Marchang. There is a strict ban on the sale of tobacco products during the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic and the ban for sale of such substances will be monitored until the ban is lifted informed, N Duidang.
