Ukhrul observes District Hill Leaders' Day, Meeyamgi Numit

Altogether, five e-Shram, 13 PMJAY and four CMHT cards were distributed to the identified beneficiaries during the programme, while around 25 persons had undergone preventive health check-up under the ‘Chief Minister’s Health for All’ scheme.

Ukhrul deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar on Monday inaugurated District Hill Leaders' Day cum Meeyamgi Numit at DRDA hall, mini secretariat complex, Ukhrul on Monday.

During the main event, around 35 written applications were received with grievances related to old age pension, health cards, agriculture, and veterinary related issues. 

Altogether, five e-Shram, 13 PMJAY and four CMHT cards were distributed to the identified beneficiaries during the programme, while around 25 persons had undergone preventive health check-up under the ‘Chief Minister’s Health for All’ scheme.

Addressing the public, Krishna Kumar said that the main objectives of District Hill Leaders' Day and Meeyamgi Numit was to make the government citizen-centric, proactive and to bring about efficiency, accountability and transparency in the implementation of various welfare programmes of the government. 

Elaborating further, he informed that every third Friday of the month will be earmarked specifically for the day and in case if the 3rd Friday happens to be a general or public holiday, then the next working day will be organised as District Hill Leaders Day and Meeyamgi Numit.

A dedicated ‘Meeyamgi Numit Cell’ has also been constituted to ensure better co-ordination among the officials of various departments and for speedy redressal of the grievances of the general public, he added.

The programme was attended by village chiefs, general public, all the district level officers (DLOs) of various line departments under Ukhrul District, among others. 

Meanwhile, a press note issued by the DC Ukhrul on Monday evening mentioned that District Hill Leaders Day and Meeyamgi Numit in respect of Ukhrul district was held in pursuance of the decision taken by the State cabinet on May 18, 2022 and letter no. PLG1-401/1/2022-PLG-Planning dated June 20, 2022 issued by the state Planning department for reactivation and launching of the said programme.
