UG cadre arrested, monetary demand letter, ammunition seized in Imphal West

A member of a militant outfit, who was arrested on Wednesday, disclosed that he was directly involved in serving monetary demand letters and in transportation of arms and ammunition from one place to another.

District commando, Imphal West district arrested one active cadre of the militant outfit National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) from Tendongyang Makha Leikai, Imphal West on Wednesday.

The arrested person has been identified as one Khuraijam Ronald alias Mangal Singh, 32, son of Kh Ibomcha Singh from Tendongyang Makha Leikai, Imphal West.

The commando team under the command of officer-in-charge, commando, Imphal West unit P Achouba and supervision of additional superintendent of police (Ops) M Amit and under the overall supervision of superintendent of police, Imphal West Ksh Shivananda arrested the person.

During preliminary enquiry, Ronald disclosed that he is an active member of the said underground organisation and joined the organisation in September 2021. He further disclosed that he is presently working under the command of self-style finance secretary Dabalo alias Nongpoknganba of the same outfit.

Ronald also disclosed that he is directly involved in serving monetary demand letters and in transportation of arms and ammunition from one place to another.

Two mobile handsets, one monetary demand letter of the outfit and five 0.32 ammunitions were seized from his possession.

The arrested person along with the seized items has been handed over to Sekmai police station for further action and investigation
