A combined force of Kakching police District Commando Unit and a Column of 37 AR apprehended an active cadre of KCP (Noyon) during mobile random frisking and checking at Kakching Khunou Lamkhai area.
In a release, Kakching Police stated that the accused have been identified as 41-year-old Khumukcham Romeshkumar Singh alias Athoiba alias Mangoljao, son of Kh Ibobi Singh from Kakching Khunou Thingam Tarung Leikai.
The arrest was made during a random frisking conducted by District Commando Unit along with a Column of 37 AR, under the command of OD/CDO Unit, Kakching inspector Md Abash Khan, as a precautionary security measure taken up by district police in view of the upcoming State Assembly Election, it added.
Mentioning that he holds the rank of sergeant major in KCP (Noyon) Romeshkumar said that he joined the banned underground organisation in October of 2007 through a self-styled captain Ramananda, the release continued. Stating that he was trained for 45-day basic military training at Leipok of Tamu, Myanmar, Romeshkumar further disclosed that he worked under the command of general secretary of the organisation Poirei, it stated.
The release added that Romeshkumar had been handed over to OC of Waikhom Police Station along with a copy of the arrest memo in order to undertake further necessary legal actions.
UG cadre arrested in Kakching
