The association, in its release issued on Sunday, thanked Cabinet Minister Khashim Vashum, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Transport; Alfred Kanngam Arthur, Ex legislator of Ukhrul AC; Krishna Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul and Shanngam Shaliwo, District Forest Officer, Ukhrul for their selfless and prompt intervention.
“It was only through their helping hand that we could successfully accomplish our endeavour in arranging lodging accommodation with boarding service in an easily accessible town area for the visiting journalists free of cost”, the release said, and maintained that their unceasing support, concern and contribution to the local media fraternity was truly acknowledged and appreciated.
It then acknowledged that without their selfless and prompt intervention, it would not have been possible from the UDWJA end to host the media persons.
“We, once again, express our heartfelt gratitude to each of them for always being there with us in strengthening the fourth pillar of democracy. We wish them happiness, success and prosperity in all their future endeavours and may they be a source of inspiration to the media fraternity and the society at large,” it added.
It may be mentioned that ever since the inception of state level Shirui Lily festival in 2017, UDWJA has been providing lodging with boarding service to the visiting state journalists in addition to reception during the course of celebration.
