Two men found dead in Imphal identified

The bodies of the two men found dead on Wednesday have been handed over to their respective family members after post-mortem was carried out.

The two men, whose bodies were found at separate places in Imphal on Wednesday, have been identified, sources said. 

The man, who was found dead at the bank of Kangla moat in Imphal under Imphal Police Station on Wednesday, has been identified as one Aribam Chiteshor Sharma, 44, son of Nandakishor from Uripok Bachaspati Leikai in Imphal East, the sources said.

After conducting post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family members on Thursday, the sources said.

Meanwhile, the other person, who was found dead in the Imphal River near Moirangkhom, has been identified as one Khangenbam Lenin, 20, son of Kh Santosh from Haoreibi Awang Leikai in Thoubal district, the sources said.

According to his family, Santosh suffered from mental illness. He had gone out around 3.30 am on November 19 and went missing since then. The body has been handed over to the family members after a post-mortem was conducted, police sources said.
