Two arrested, 3.3 kg opium seized

The arrested persons, along with the seizure goods, have been taken to Nambol police station for further necessary legal action.

A combined team of district commando, Bishnupur along with Nambol police station, seized 3.3 kg of opium at around 8.30 pm and arrested two drug peddlers near Leimaram Waroiching outpost on Tuesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as \Raju Bhattarai, 27, son of Bishnu Bhattarui of New Keithelmanbi near ABI Checkon and Khaihen Kipgen, 47, son of late Thongkhomang Kipgen of Khoripok village, Kangmong Maning.

Police team, under the supervision of additional superintendent of police (Ops), Bishnupur district, Roni Mayengbam and additional superintendent of police (law and order), Bishnupur district, Satyam Takhellambam, under the guidance of superintendent of police, Bishnupur district, Herojit Meitei, conducted frisking and checking at the said spot.

During the police activity, the two drug peddlers were detained and 3.3 kg of opium were detected and seized during the examination.

The arrested persons, along with the seizure goods, have been taken to Nambol police station for further necessary legal action. A case has been registered at the said police station under the NDPS Act.
