Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Thursday extended deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who died in the landslide which occurred at Tupul Yard Railway Construction Camp in Noney district.
The governor stated in a release that he was deeply shocked to hear the sad news of the landslide caused by incessant rain in the state in the last more than a week. The incident caused several casualties while dozens are reportedly buried alive, he stated.

Personnel of SDRF and NDRF are on their way to join the rescue operation, he mentioned. He prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family members to bear these profound sorrows. He also prayed for speedy recovery of those injured persons, it added.
