A cement carrying Tata truck fell from Lihkru Korii Bridge located between Makhan and Chakumai under Mao Police Station in Senapati district on Tuesday, sources said.
The sources said the truck driver and handyman sustained injuries in the mishap, but are reportedly in critical condition.
The truck bearing registration number MN01/AA0005 was coming from Dimapur towards Imphal when it fell off of the Lihkru Korii Bridge and into the river below.

The driver and handyman have been identified as Md Nashir, 57, and Mustakem, 17, both are from Lilong. After both the injured were administered first aid at 33 AR Unit Hospital, they were rushed to RIMS, Imphal.
It may be mentioned that two trucks also fell into the river down from the bridge a few days earlier.
