Pan with his family’s truck was hired by one government contractor Takhelmayum Robin for transportation of fertilisers from Jiribam on May 18, said advisor of KSYC W Munindro while speaking to the media in Imphal.

In the evening of May 19, Pan called up his family from his mobile phone to inform them that he was abducted by the ZUF and asked his family members to contact the contractor (Robin) for the details, Munidro further said, adding, Pan’s phone remained switched off since he disconnected the call.

He continued that when the family members through the KSYC contacted the contractor over the phone, they were informed that Pan will be released soon but have not even received a call from Pan.

Meanwhile, the contractor is neither willing to meet the family members of Pal nor give any cooperation to the KSYC in finding the whereabouts of Pan, he further alleged.

“Such negligence shown by the contractor suggests that he could be involved in conspiring to commit the abduction. The monetary demand may be raised to the contractor or the government but Pal has become a scapegoat,” he said.

The contractor should hold full responsibility if any unwanted incident happens to Pan, said the advisor.

He further said that according to police, there will be certain delay in rescue operation if a complaint is lodged to the Porompat police station in this regard. So, the club had decided to lodge a complaint to Nungba police station which is the alleged place of occurrence of the abduction, he added.
