Emphasis on the need of spreading awareness on mental health, tree plantation and prize distribution of poster-making competition marked World Mental Health Day 2020 observance in Tamenglong under the theme 'Mental health for all: Greater investment, greater access' on Saturday.
The World Mental Health Day 2020 observance in Tamenglong, organised by the District Mental Health Program and the District Health Society Tamenglong, was held at the district hospital Duigailong, Tamenglong. Dignitaries of the function planted tree saplings near the district hospital Duigailong, Tamenglong to mark the day.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Kajaigai Gangmei, who attended the function as chief guest, urged the participants of the function to spread awareness on mental health that it is curable. He also called to spread awareness on the need for counselling and treatment of mental health.
Tamenglong District AIDs Control Officer Dr G Majachunglu and Chief Medical Officer Dr Chambo Gonmei, who attended as guest of honour and president of the function respectively, also spoke on the occasion. Dr Kh. Aashif Iqbal, Nodal officer of District Mental Health Program, also addressed the function.
Prize distribution of poster-making competition was held during the function. The first position was bagged by George L. Hrangate. Keziah Daimai and Dr Damguanglung Pamei were adjusted with second and third prize respectively.
