Election officials have approved ‘torch-light’ as the symbol of Independent candidate of Keishamthong assembly constituency Nishikant Sapam. 

The symbol was officially launched by the candidate himself at Team Nishikant office located at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok leikai, Imphal West on Friday. 

During the launching ceremony, Nishikant said there were no political visions in Manipur in the past. “There were no good political leaders and therefore, I joined politics as the actual meaning of politics is sacrifice and not to make political benefits,” he added.

The upcoming election will be a fight between the truth and falsehood and truth always wins, said Nishikant. He further said the symbol of ‘torch light’ is very meaningful as it will show the truth with its light.
