Manipur Transport Minister Vungzagin Valte on Monday launched three new Manipur State Transport (MST) buses for villages within Singat and Thanlon assembly constituencies.
During the launching programme, the minister flagged off the three buses at DTO office in the presence of MLA of Singat, Ginsuanhau Zou; additional chief secretary, P Vaiphei; director of Transport, Nevedita Lalrenlakpam; deputy commissioners of Churachandpur and Pherzawl and other officials.
The bus service will run along Churachandpur to Bukpi, Churachandpur to Sangaikot and Churachandpur to Behiang.
Vungzagin said that he would like to thank the chief minister for providing bus services at five villages of Singat and Thanlon assembly constituencies.
During the programme, the minister assured that the damaged building of DTO will be renovated and also said that the garages for the five buses and dormitory for the drivers and their staff will be arranged soon.
Regarding absence of District Transport officer and staff except one in the launching programme, he said that action will be taken against them and informed the officials to issue show-cause notice.
The additional chief secretary (Transport) said that the public must strictly maintain SOPs of COVID-19 especially during this time of festive sessions. He also said that the bus service was sanctioned in October but had to wait due to code of conduct of election.
