According to sources, the accused, Robertson Mutum, 27, son of Surbala Mutum from Babu Keithel, a married man with a child, had been posing as a bachelor and dating a college girl from Kakching district.

The sources said Robertson and the victim knew each other from Facebook on June and they met each other in July after which Robertson and his two other friends invited her to visit Khongjom. The victim was not aware that Robertson was a married man.

Robertson forced the victim to get intimate with the former and has been using the incident as leverage to continue their sexual relationship. The accused also allegedly has been spreading intimate pictures of the victim to others.

On October 14, the victim filed a report at the cybercrime police station and on the same day, Robertson lured the victim outside her home and eloped with her against her will.
