Members of Thoubal district BJP on Thursday burned effigy of Indian National Congress (INC) MP Adhir Rajan Chowdhury at various spots, protesting the MP’s “Rastrapatni” remark made to President Droupadi Murmu during the parliament monsoon session.
The protesters demanded MP Adhir Ranjan to release an official public apology for his “sexist” remark against the President of India Droupadi Murmu. The MP’s remark indicates the sexist ideology of the INC party, the protesters added.

The event was participated by BJP state secretary K Inaocha; state secretary Priyokumar Moirangthem; BJP Thoubal district president Kumarjit Yumnam along with the office bearers of BJP Thoubal district and BJP Thoubal Mandal.

Meanwhile, members of BJP Wangjing Tentha condemned MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s “vulgar” remark, and burned effigy of the MP near Wangjing Keithel as well. The event was attended by BJP Wangjing Tentha Mandal president Oinam Sunil along with other office bearers.
