The meeting was held amid reports that the diversion made at the NH 102B or Guite Road near Khuanggin was washed off completely by the current of the river, blocking the road and another one at NH 202 or Tipaimukh Road near Leijangphai village where a temporary diversion was also flooded by the river due to the seasoned rain and neglected by the construction company.

The MLA, under whose constituency the two incidents happened, told the construction company to work on war footing or that there will be a famine-like situation as the road connectivity for the AC was totally blocked. He instructed officials of the construction to give a weekly report of their activity to the DC of Churachandpur while also telling them that the Bailey bridge that collapsed last week was their creation as they ply two trucks with sand that wait more than 40 metric tonnes while the bridge can only withstand only 20 metric tonnes. The company must build a new Bailey bridge at the earliest as the RCC bridge can only be finished by August 2022, the MLA said.

On the insistent of the MLA, the NHIDCL officials promised to finish the under constructed RCC at NH 202 by 10th of June, 2022 and will have a Bailey bridge at NH102B in two months while they will simultaneously be working to finish the RCC bridge in the stipulated time and will also look in the temporary diversion road before the Bailey bridge was commissioned.
