Civil society organisations of Tamenglong on Saturday decried the Manipur government for attempting to inaugurate Judicial Magistrate Court Complex, Tamenglong which is allegedly under construction.
The inauguration of the complex by Chief Minister N Biren Singh has been scheduled on Sunday.
The CSOs further alleged the pastors of Town Churches Union of attempting to inaugurate the court complex Tamenglong on Sunday, stating that it has compounded the resentment.
Members of town Churches Union, joint tribes council, Village Authority Chairman Council Tamenglong, and chairmen and secretaries Association Tamenglong met the deputy commissioner Tamenglong at his official Bungalow and the inauguration ceremony has been reportedly postponed.
It the meantime leaders of Village Authority Chairmen Council Tamenglong, Chairmen and secretaries Association Tamenglong, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur, Liangmai Naga council, Zeme Naga council has jointly inspected the undergoing construction of chief judicial magistrate court complex (CJM) Tamenglong.

Speaking to the Imphal Free Press after the inspection, chairmen and secretaries Association Tamenglong president Ajei Gangmei said that civil society organisations of Tamenglong strongly condemned the attempt to inaugurate the chief judicial Magistrate court complex Tamenglong which is undergoing construction.
During a spot inspection of the newly constructed building, water was found to be seeping from leakage in many rooms. The elevator is yet to be installed while the drinking water tank is yet to be constructed, he said. There is no proper drainage system and the waste of construction materials are not removed, there are no parking areas, no electrical fittings, etc, he added.
Moreover, the local MLAs were unaware of inauguration activities and there are no mentions in the memorial stone or in the inauguration program schedule, he said. Moreover, the inauguration programme is scheduled on Sunday with an attempt to tarnish the Christian community in particular, he alleged.
The approach road via the old DC office and from Apollo ground is in a highly deplorable condition.
Unless the concerned authorities complete the construction works in the court complex and the approach road first, any attempt to inaugurate will invite consequences and the concerned authorities should soly bear responsibility, he cautioned.
He also raised apprehension that if the incomplete project is inaugurated, it will be a huge loss for the government and particularly for the people of Tamenglong district. He lamented that the water tanks for the drinking water project under Jal Jeevan Mission have been left incomplete at different locations in Tamenglong.
The mini secretariat building has also been left incomplete, and become deserted buildings. He also pointed out that the district hospital is found leaking from the roof and toilets are not properly functional till date.
