Land owners affected by 132KV S/C Rengpang-Tamenglong Transmission line project of Tamenglong district have decided to ban the construction work of the transmission line until the villagers are compensated.

In a letter addressed to the chief minister, chairman of the affected landowners stated that  the deputy commissioner of Tamenglong has submitted the compensation assessment report to POWERGRID for payment of compensation to the landowners, but POWERGRID has not made the payment till date and appealed to the chief minister to take up necessary action for compensating the land owners.

The transmission line project under the scope of NERSIP in Manipur under taken by POWERGRID on behalf of MSPDCL passes through Rengpang, Khongsang, Namkaolong, Sangrungpang, Chaengdai, Kahulong and Chiuluan villages, the letter stated.
