The All India Trade Union Congress Manipur State Committee (AITUC-MSC) on Friday condemned the burning of two RAF buses at Sapermeina in Kangpokpi district on Tuesday, and demanded strong actions against the culprits in the incident.
The trust also drew the attention of the Home Department to take action against the officials involved in pasting white paper on the number plates of the buses, stated a release. It also condemned the behaviour meted out towards the two drivers by the RAF personnel when they approached them for help.
It further urged the authorities concerned to send back the central army forces deployed in the state at the earliest, stating that they are incapable of saving the people, let alone the drivers who are transporting them. It also demanded to give befitting compensation to the bus owners.
It appealed to the people to be aware of such incidents and advised them not to rent their buses for transportation of security personnel. The trust also expressed gratitude to the Naga community in the area for rescuing one of the drivers Md Rashid, who was abducted by suspected militants, it mentioned.
