Swachhata Hi Seva: Manipur HC honors safai karamcharis with accident policy certificates

Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul highlighted the significance of providing accident insurance coverage for employees engaged in essential services such as sanitation in the High Court.

As a part of the “Safai Abhiyan” under the Swachhata Hi Seva programme, the High Court of Manipur, under the visionary leadership of Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul, organised a special programme on Friday in the Judges Lounge, High Court of Manipur to distribute Personal Accident Policy Certificates to its Safai Karamcharis.

Justice A Bimol Singh, Justice A Guneshwar Sharma, Ojesh Mutum, Registrar General of the High Court of Manipur, Registry officials, Naorem Ibomcha, Chief Business manager, Imphal Business office, National Insurance Company Limited, and staff of the High Court, among others attended the event, said in a release.

Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul highlighted the significance of providing accident insurance coverage for employees engaged in essential services such as sanitation in the High Court. He emphasised the vital contribution of the Safai Karamcharis to the day-to-day operations of the Court, acknowledging their tireless dedication and service, it mentioned.

He further noted that this initiative is a step towards recognising the critical role these individuals play in maintaining cleanness in the High Court, it stated.

The Personal Accident Policy, provided in collaboration with the National Insurance Company, is intended to offer financial protection in the event of any accident, thereby enhancing the sense of security among the Safai Karamcharis, it added.
