Concerning the cancelling of the protest and rescheduling on Friday, STDCM secretary K Bogendrajit Singh told the Imphal Free Press that chief minister N Biren Singh, for attending a one-day political conference, happened to be passing through Singjamei market where the protest was planned to be held, and due to imposing of CrPC 144 in Imphal West district, police dispersed them before the protest could be started.
