A mass tree plantation drive was carried out at STC BSF, Churachandpur, as a part of massive afforestation drive to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, marking 75 years of India’s Independence.
It was held in the presence of commandant of BSF STC, Hidam Shuboi Singh, and DFO of Churachandpur, Esther Laltankim Serto
The plantation drive was also attended by six forest department officers, BSF officers and men along with school children of KV School, Churachandpur who actively participated in the plantation drive.
The event was organised with an aim to contribute to the Green Drive of the Country, fighting against global warming and thereby reducing its impact on climate change and ultimately presenting a better environment for the next generation.
During the event a total of 2,000 saplings, mainly, Neem, Cheer, Palm, Guava, Amla, etc., were planted in all Coys training areas by coy personnel.
