Samagra Shiksha (Secondary) Manipur on Friday organised a Prizes Distribution function of the winners of the State Level Kala Utsav, 2022-23 Competition at Jawaharlal Nehru Dance Academy, Khuyathong, Imphal.
The students competed in the field of 10 categories, divided into boys and girls. The 10 categories are: Visual Arts three dimensional, Visual Arts two dimensional, Instrumental music precursive, Instrumental Music Melody, Vocal Music Traditional Folk, Classical dance, Dramma Solo Acting, Vocal Music Traditional Folk, Indigenous toy & games and Vocal Music Classical.
Altogether, there are 120 applicants for the competition and at the State Level there are 82 participants in the competition from different schools of the state. Prizes and certificates were handed over to the winners in each category from first to third position, both boys and girls by Commissioner, Education(S) H Gyan Prakash. Certificates and cash award also given to the winner of the State Level Kala Utsav, 2021 Competition.
The winners who hold first position would represent the state at the National-level Kala Utsav Schedule in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, next year.
State Project Director(SPD), Education(S) Samagra Shiksha, Manipur L Nandakumar Singh, Additional Director(Valley), Assistant State Project Director (ASPD), Education(S), Samagra Shiksha (Secondary), Manipur Bisheshwar Khumukcham, students, ZEO staff and parents attended the function.
Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the Secondary stage in the country.
