‘Special policy to protect pony must’

Social worker Oinam Romen on Sunday said, road has become a place of having food for the horses.

Expressing concern over the endangering of precious pony horses in Manipur, social worker Oinam Romen on Sunday said that has come to make special policy to protect pony in the state.

Romen stated the same while interacting with the media on the sidelines of distributing aid items to differently abled persons at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai.

Horses in search of food come out at roads and eat waste materials. Road has become a place of having food for the horses, he lamented.

Romen also expressed concern that the historic identity of Manipur horses will vanish one day if concerned fail to take urgent steps for protection and preservation.

“Those people who are rearing horses should also keep adequate food for the horses. The State government should look into the matter seriously and facilitate for getting food adequately,” he urged.
