RK Imo, MLA of Sagolband Assembly constituency (AC), who is the son-in-law of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren, has a total asset worth Rs 5,10,94,917.93 as per the affidavit submitted to the returning officer (RO) of Sagolband AC in Imphal West.
RK Imo is the son of former chief minister late RK Jaichandra Singh from 11-Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, Imphal West. He completed his MA in 1999 and LLB in 2002 from Delhi University.
In Biren’s election affidavit submitted to the RO of Heingang AC, his total assets are worth only Rs 1,08,46,392.98.
As per the affidavit, total assets of Imo's wife, Anjubala Nongthongbam (daughter of N Biren), is valued at Rs 2,13,20,021.60 while Imo's movable assets are worth Rs 1,14,37,779.93 and his wife's movable assets are worth Rs 52,10,021.60. Of the movable assets, Imo has a total of Rs 2,16,400 as cash in hand, while his wife has Rs 1,07,100.
In the category of immovable assets, Imo has a self-acquired property worth Rs 15,00,000 which was purchased at Rs 40,000. He also has an inherited land worth Rs 1,37,07,137 and an inherited building worth Rs 2,44,50,001. His wife has a self-acquired property worth Rs 1,61,10,000, which was purchased at Rs 40,80,010.
Both Imo and his wife have liabilities as loans from the bank of Rs 44,36,391 and Rs 39,53,442 respectively.
According to the affidavit, Imo does not have any criminal pending cases and has not been convicted for any criminal cases. His source of income is the pay of the MLA and FDR interest and his wife’s source of income is the salary received by working as an assistant project officer of DRDA, lease rent and FDR interest.
