Snippets: No water supply

Due to the repairing of Intake Bridge at Lilong and the decreasing volume of water level at Imphal River and Iril River, Canchipur Water Treatment Plant would not be able to supply water for a certain period of time.

IMPHAL: Executive Engineer, Water Supply Maintenance Division No II, L Irish Singh appealed to all consumers of Canchipur Water Supply to bear the problem of water supply as due to the repairing of Intake Bridge at Lilong and the decreasing volume of water level at Imphal River and Iril River, Canchipur Water Treatment Plant would not be able to supply water for a certain period of time. The department appealed to the people living at the area of Canchipur water supply to bear with them for a short period.

THOUBAL: The body of a man was found on Monday at Moirang Palli road of Khangabok, under Thoubal police station at around 6.50 am. As per police source, the man was suspected to have died from drug overdose.

TENGNOUPAL: An awareness cum outreach programme regarding the availability of free legal aid services rendered by the legal services institutions of the state was held on Monday at Kwatha Village, Tengnoupal district. The programme was organized by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in collaboration with Tour de Manipur Riders and Kwatha Adventure Valley. The programme was led by Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, MASLSA, N Sonykumar, Civil Judge Senior Division, Imphal West and Sarungbam Mangaleibi, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Moreh. Around 50 villagers attending the programme were given awareness regarding the availability of free legal aid services rendered by the legal services institutions of the state.

JIRIBAM (JNN): A rail engine of the Northeast Frontier Manipur was rolled out for trial from Rani Gaidinliu Railway Station to Khongsang Railway Station in Tamenglong district on Monday. The event was attended by chief engineer of Northeast Frontier Railway Sandeep Sharma, deputy chief engineer (CE) Rampal Singh and officials of railway trackline. Sandeep said, as of now passenger service cannot be started as they have not completed the construction of the railway stations and Rail Track Exchange. The passenger service is likely to be launched by June of this year, he added.
