Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has expressed hope that a solution to the Manipur issue will surely come in the next two-three months as the centre has given top priority to the state after Modi became the PM for the third term.

He made the statement while speaking to the media on the sideline of International Yoga Day observed at Khuman Lampak in Imphal.

CM Biren said that a significant reduction of violence across the state could be seen. Of the 14 months during which incidents took place, the actual crisis persisted for only six-seven months, the CM said, adding other months were normal with some incidents at some pockets of the state.

“Violence is everywhere, and it has reduced, particularly in Manipur. Despite incidents in other places, schools and business establishments across the state have opened, indicating a return to normalcy”, CM Biren said.

He said that the unrest in the entire northeast India is due to influx and drug menace from outside regions, adding that once the route is identified the situation will be solved.

He also added that Home Minister Amit Shah has been actively involved, holding high-security meetings and gathering necessary details to formulate an action plan.

“I hope that a solution is achieved within two-three months,” CM Biren said.
