Study materials were distributed to two children homes at Heingang assembly constituency on Sunday by the Singju Festival Committee in anticipation of the 6th Singju Festival which will begin from December 28 onwards.
The festival committee team distributed the study materials which included exercise books, pens and pencils along with edible items to about 110 children’s staying in Leimakol Poirei Nawakol Children Home, Achanbigei and Carmel Jyoti Children Home, Luwangsangbam Awang Leikai.
The event was led by the chairman of the festival committee P Bimola Devi along with the chief convenor L Boby, convenor Rakesh Naorem, advisor Keke Wahengbam, finance secretary Waikhom Bihari, assistant finance secretary Kunjeshwar Mangsatabam, media co-ordinator Ojit Sorokhaibam, programme co-ordinator Surendra Ningomba and other members.
On the occasion, P Bimola encouraged the children to have confidence in themselves. She mentioned that the upcoming Singju Festival will give the children of the children's home a chance to showcase their hidden talents, and informed the interested children to contact the festival committee.
The convenor of the committee Rakesh Naorem encouraged the children to showcase their talents in the upcoming 6th Singju Festival which will be held at the Ibudhou Marjing Polo Complex in Heingang. He added that free entry will be provided for all the children of children homes.
It can be mentioned that the preparations are underway for the 6th Singju Festival jointly organised by the Singju Festival Committee and Ibudhou Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup under the guidance of Singju Yokhatpa Lup (SYOL).
