Shopkeepers with Covid free certificates only can open shops in Kangpokpi

Chairman Covid task force Kangpokpi Haolet Khongsai said that only those grocery shopkeepers having Covid free Certificates shall open the shops.

With grocery shops likely to be open for three hours from 7 am to 10 am on alternate days in Kangpokpi district, following the order of district magistrate, Covid task force Kangpokpi in a meeting on Sunday adopted various preventive measures for opening of shops in Kangpokpi.

Speaking to the media, chairman Covid task force Kangpokpi Haolet Khongsai said that only those grocery shopkeepers having Covid free Certificates shall open the shops, following strict Covid appropriate behaviours while those who do not have Covid free certificates shall not be allowed to open their shops.

He said that the shopkeepers as well as the shoppers shall maintain strict Covid appropriate behaviours while adding that Covid task force volunteers and police personnel of Kangpokpi Police Station will strictly monitor the opening of shops and ensure that Covid appropriate behaviours is maintained both by the shopkeepers and shoppers.

He also said that around 50 shopkeepers including some youths who went to a picnic and detained by Kangpokpi police were tested and they were all fortunately found to be negative.

He said that vegetables sellers at Nute Kailhang including door-to-door vegetables sellers must also obtain Covid free Certificate; otherwise, they shall be restricted from selling their vegetables.

He also appealed to the general public not to create panic buying as the shops shall be open three hours daily on alternate days and avoid crowding while strictly maintaining Covid appropriate behaviours while coming to the market.

Meanwhile, the Covid task force of Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi, Kalapahar, Keithelmanbi, Santolabari-Prasain, Tujang and Irang area also embarked on mass testing of shopkeepers in their respective areas, disseminating Covid awareness and appropriate behaviours, visiting home isolation patients and taking stock of their situation, vaccination awareness, etc
