The Senior Citizens for Society (SCS) in Manipur on Tuesday condemned the statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Moirang, Bishnupur on January 6 stating that Manipuris are descendants of the Arjuna of Mahabharat.

The SCS stated in a release that Amit Shah's statement on Manipur history is “wrong and misleading”, and demanded withdrawal of the statement.

The SCS also urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to “take initiative to pacify the public outrage”.
