A team of Senapati police arrested two VDF personnel and seized 79 soap cases of suspected brown sugar from their possession near the Maram Centre in Senapati district on Tuesday.
According to sources, a team of Senapati police arrested two VDF personnel and three persons were travelling in a four-wheeler vehicle (Tata Safari AS-01-FE-9676) near the Maram Centre in Senapati district.
The arrested persons were two VDF personnel namely Mohan Kumar Bista, 30, son of Mon Bahadur Bista from Lairouching, Senapati and H Solomon, 32, son of Hingba from Sangkhumai, Senapati along with three others from Assam namely Lalpu Singsit, 34, son of Sothang Singsit from Gangjang Village, Karbi Anglong, Assam, Haogin Lhangum, 20, son of Johny Lhangum from Chonjang Village, Karbi Anglong, Assam and Robert Lenthan, 24, son of Jangkam Lenthang of Thingpijang Village, Hidipi, Karbi Anglong, Assam.
A regular case has been registered at Senapati police station for investigation, it added.
