Tengnoupal battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) recovered 15 packets containing 1,50,000 WY tablets worth Rs 7.5 crore on Saturday from Tengnoupal district, sources said.
The narcotics substance were seized during routine checking at Mobile Vehicle Check Post, Tengnoupal from an individual while transporting the drugs in a vehicle, said IGAR in a release.
The seized narcotics along with the vehicle and the drug peddler were handed over to Tengnoupal police for further investigation, it added.
Meanwhile, the Shangshak battalion Assam Rifles distributed office furniture to the Senior Elders' Forum, Phungyar village of Kamjong district, the release mentioned.
