In violence-hit Kangpokpi district, the Assam Rifles continue to extend its helping hand by organising one of the biggest medical camps at Kangpokpi district headquarters on Friday.
During the mega medical camp, the Assam Rifles provided relief to the residents of Kangpokpi district devoid of quality medical care due to the ongoing ethnic clashes.
As many as 2,300 locals, including women and children, aged persons, and Internally Displaced Persons benefited from the medical camp.
A team of 12 doctors, including various specialists like Anaesthesiologist, Gynaecologist, Paediatrician and medical specialist, attended to the medical ailments and needs of the patients.
On the second day, more than 1000 people, including Internally Displaced Persons, sheltered in relief camps at Kangpokpi and Hengbung availed the benefits of the camp.
Interestingly, medicines worth over Rs 7 lakh were also distributed to locals in dire need of essential medicines, the AR said.
