The Police Control Room, Manipur Police on Sunday said that search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.
During the search operations, two country made 9mm pistol with one Magazine, one .22 Rifle with Magazine, one Country made launcher (Pompi), one 36 HE grenade, six live rounds ammunition, 27 empty cases, one Lathode empty case, two smoke grenade, five Tear smoke shell, one ‘Baofeng’ handset, one Pistol holster, two BP Jacket, one BP plate,one jungle Boot (pair) were seized from Utangpokpi Hill, Kakching district, stated a release.
Four 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifle, one 7.62 mm local made Rifle, one .303 Rifle, three Country made Pompi, one Country made Lathode Gun, two Ak 47 Magazine, 40 Live rounds ammunitions, three Improvised Explosive Devices, two handset with one Charger were seized from Maojang Village, Tengnoupal district, it stated.
It said that the movement of 250 and 12 nos. of vehicles carrying essential items along NH-37 and NH-2 has been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoys are provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, it mentioned.
A total of 110 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and no one was detained by Police in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it added.
