Amid tense situation reportedly marked by sporadic incidents of protest in violence-hit Manipur, search operations continued in several districts of the state during which, more arms, ammunitions and explosives have been recovered, police sources said.
According to a release issued by the Manipur Police Control Room, four arms, 38 ammunitions and eight bombs were recovered from Imphal-West and Imphal-East districts during search operations conducted on Thursday.
Search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas in Imphal-West, Imphal-East, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Thoubal districts, the police said.
The police appealing to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.

Meanwhile, the situation in the state remained tense with sporadic incidents of congregation of protesters, the police added.
Arrest: So far, 1,581 persons have been detained in connection with violations in different districts of the state, the police said.
Movement of vehicles: The police further said that movement of 163 vehicles along National Highway-37 with essential items have been ensured.
Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, the police added.
Checkpoints: A total of 123 nakas/checkpoints have been installed in several districts of the state, both in the hill and the valley.
Appeal: The Manipur Police appealed to the general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulation of unfounded videos etc may be confirmed from the rumour free number - 9233522822 of Central Control room, it said.
