Security forces conducted an extensive search to nab the culprits involved after miscreants attacked the residence of Maniour Transport Minister Khashim Vashum at Hamleikhong in Ukhrul District opposite to Mini-Secretariat of Ukhrul on Saturday around 8.40 pm.
According to police, the bomb is suspected to be hurled in the said area targeting human casualty and destruction of public property.
Following which, a team of Ukhrul Police rushed to the spot along with other strength of police from Reserve Line, 35 Assam Rifles, Town post and A-Coy 152 Battalion BS (Mini-Secretariat, Ukhrul), conducted extensive search for the involved culprits and inspected the spot.
During the operation, no suspect involved in the commission of the crime could be detained but seized some splinters. There was no human casualty or major damage to property; however, some pillars of the building were found damaged.
A case has been registered at Ukhrul Police Station for further investigation.
