The Goodwill foundation and SBI Foundation’s initiative ‘SBI Sanjeevani - Clinic on wheels’ (Mobile Medical Van) was launched and flagged off at B Aizalon, Churachandpur district on Friday.
The medical van was flagged off by chief manager of SBI Churachandpur branch K Muanzova Duhlian in the presence of the chief medical officer Churachandpur Dr Kim Simte and officials from Goodwill foundation and SBI.
The medical van will be providing primary, preventives, diagnostic, curative and referral health service at the doorsteps of the people in the rural areas of Churachandpur. The Mobile Medical Unit is equipped with different essential diagnostics equipment with a medical team consisting of a doctor, lab technician, pharmacist and health assistant cum driver.
The SBI foundation had been in partnership with Goodwill Foundation, an Aizawl based voluntary organisation for the implementation of medical unit in Churachandpur district, so as to provide doorstep Health service to 20 selected villages through the Mobile Medical Van, which was larger than the normal Medical van which had power supply of its own via an in-built generator.
The launch was held to commemorate the 67th Foundation Day of the SBI, simultaneously with nine other states in India, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh , Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
