The 55th branch of the SBI in Manipur, the Salbung Branch, was inaugurated on Wednesday at Salbung village in Churachandpur district by General Manager (NW -II) SBI, NE Circle Lunkim Thangboi and MLA of Saikot AC, Paulenlal Haokip.
Additional DC Thienlaljoy Gangte, additional SP Hasby Haokip, the nearby village chiefs and villagers, SBI staff of the state led by Regional Manager Hepuni Bismarck were also present at the event.
After the inauguration and inspection of the new branch office, the team headed to ECA Church Hall, Salbung where a formal programme was held where the MLA spoke about his appreciation to team SBI for having a community event which he said was 'rare' as inauguration are usually just about ribbon cutting and candle lighting. He also called on the denizens to act as the host and protector of the financial institutions by treating it as their own and always respect and protect private, government or bank's property.
The GM of SBI, NE Circle highlighted the works of the SBI under its Corporate Social Responsibility under which Rs 4.5 lakh worth of 11 items were donated and handed out to Ruth Blessed Home & Big Brothers Overcomes.
The items included refrigerator, room heater, blanket and mattress, sintex, etc., numbering to 223 items.
After the branch inauguration, handling out items under SBI's CSR, the SBI team, led by their General Manager, conducted Mega Credit Camp on Credit Linkages & GSS. In the program, Ruth Niengpi Singson, founder director of the Ruth Blessed Home & Big Brothers Overcomes, facilitated the GM of SBI and his team with traditional shawls where she also thanked the SBI for their Help.
