SBI donates Rs 2 lakh to hospital

The money was donated for procurement of medical equipment and medicines under the SBI's Corporate Social Responsibility.

The State Bank of India (SBI) led by its general manager, Network-II, North East Circle Lunkim Thangboi donated a sum of Rs 2 lakh to Sielmat Christian Hospital and Research Center, Churachandpur on Friday.

The money was donated for procurement of medical equipment and medicines under the SBI's Corporate Social Responsibility.  It was handed to the hospital and research centre’s authorities led by its senior administrative officer Lawm Pudaitte and staff of the hospital.

On the occasion, officials from Sielmat Christian Hospital and Research Centre thanked the SBI for their support. They expressed that the hospital was the first private hospital in Churachandpur that was set up by Dr reverend Rochung Pudaite in 1964. They further highlighted their activities and ongoing work for the future to transform the health care scenario in Churachandpur District.

The general manager and his team on the occasion said that in a short notice, they could not gather the medical equipment and medicines but presented a cheque. He lauded the hospital for taking the pain of taking care of the sick for a long time. He expressed hope that their meagre contribution will be used to further the hospitals' services to the sick people.
