Sankalp Saptaah, Samvesh Samaroh held at Chandel

Sankalp Saptaah’ was observed in all of the 500 aspirational blocks across 329 districts in the country.

The Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar chaired the Samavesh samaroh, the concluding function of the week long “Sangkalp Saptaah,” programme on Monday.

The main programme was the review meeting of the block level officers and staff of Chakpikarong block, at the conference hall, district head quarter. During the programme the deputy commissioner reviewed in detail the programmes conducted during the Sankalp Saptaah campaign.

The deputy commissioner, speaking on the sideline of the programme said, though Sangkalp Saptaah campaign had been completed successfully, it is only the beginning of the aspirational Block programme. He further added that under the aspirational Block programme, the district administration will work towards bringing up Chakpikarong Block on the state and national level in all the given indicators and sectors, making it a front runner in all the KPIs within two to three years, and make Chakpikarong an Inspiring Block from an Aspirational Block.

During this week-long programme, Chakpikarong block witnessed different programmes like Health Mela by the health department, Debating and painting competition by the education department, financial literacy campaign etc conducted by different departments. Health, ICDS, PHED, Agriculture, Skill development and Education department conducted special program at the Chikpikarong Block under the sankalp saptaah campaign.

It may be mentioned here that the Sankalp Saptaah’ was observed in all of the 500 aspirational blocks across 329 districts in the country. Each day in ‘Sankalp Saptaah’, from October 3-9 was dedicated to a specific development theme. It is a development initiative aimed at improving the performance of areas that are lagging on various development parameters. Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) aims to improve governance at the block level, in order to enhance the quality of life of citizens, with an expectation that all 500 backward blocks will reach the state average in terms of development in three years.

Monday’s programme was attended by ADC Chandel Md. Firoj Khan and different Block Level officers and staff of the Chikpikarong SubDivision.
