Sample of 'U-Morok' taken for SGS testing

The sample of U-Morok (king chilli) has been taken for Societe Generale De Surveillance (SGS) testing from Freshies Fresh, Chingmeirong on Monday.

Sample of U-Morok (king chilli) has been taken for Societe Generale De Surveillance (SGS) testing to recognise the global benchmark of quality and integrity from Freshies Fresh, Chingmeirong on Monday.

The sample was collected by SGS executive, Salis Ghosal, and quality control head of Organic Food Private Limited, Anamitra Bhattacharya.

Speaking to the media, SGS executive Salis Ghosal said that SGS is the world leading testing, inspection and certification company. The company recognises the global benchmark for quality and integrity. Collecting samples of U-Morok is to enable a better business everywhere to work efficiently, deliver with quality, and trade with integrity and trust, Salis added. 

Quality control head, Anamitra Bhattacharya said that dried U-Morok of 600 kg is collected to test Aflatoxin, microbes, color, SSU unit to test domestic as well as international trading quality. There are processes of verification and examination as well to ensure quality and product to send it everywhere in the world, Anamitra added.

Freshies Fresh owner, Santa said that the testing has become compulsory to trade domestically and internationally and added that he is planning to send 1,100 kg of U-Morok to the United States.
