Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing launched the Chief Minister's Health for All (CMHA) Scheme in Kangpokpi district on the occasion of World Heart Day 2022 Friday at CHC Saikul.
The CMHA aims to provide door-to-door health screening for primary healthcare and chronic disease management such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Breast Cancer, Oral Cancer, Cervical Cancer, respiratory diseases, etc.
MLA Kimneo urged citizens and CSO leaders to appreciate the government’s noble initiatives for the health interest of the citizens and avail the doorstep delivery of healthcare services provided through the CMHA scheme.
She also appealed to all the stakeholders to extend necessary cooperation to the healthcare workers in implementing the scheme in Saikul areas while assuring necessary support and cooperation for any issues concerning the health of the citizens in general and the development of CHC Saikul.
The MLA also took the opportunity to adopt nine TB patients under CHC Saikul and handed over nutritious diet and cash to the TB patients. She assured them to continue supporting the dietary needs of the TB patients till the completion of their treatment.
SDO Saikul, Bhungba Maibam, who attended the event as Guest of Honour, appreciated the initiatives taken up by the Health Department and assured to extend necessary help from the Block Administration.
CMO Kangpokpi, Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip, who graced the occasion as Functional President, appealed to the citizens to avail maximum benefits from the scheme which is to be rendered by the HCWs at your respective doorstep keeping in mind the hardships to be faced by the health workers in carrying out the activities of the scheme.
Dr Haokip also assured to address any issues which may be faced by the healthcare workers and the citizens in the process of the implementation of the scheme.
Kuki Inpi Saikul Joint Secretary, Thangkhohao Hmangte also appreciated the health department in providing maximum possible healthcare services to the citizens of Saikul areas and assured to extend necessary support to the Health Department in carrying out people-centric CMHA activities in Saikul areas.
Former vice chairman, ADC Sadar Hills, Thangjakam Misao, Ex-MDC Thongjalun Mate, KSO Saikul President Goupu Chongloi, and OC Saikul Anthony Suresh also assured to extend necessary co-operation to the CMHA activities in Saikul areas considering the health of the citizens as the topmost priority.
Dr John Lupheng Lupheng, MO i/c CHC Saikul informed the gathering that, initially the scheme will be rolled out in 25 villages in the Saikul Block Headquarter area and it will be made to cover all the villages under CHC Saikul in a phase manner.
Dr Lupheng also said that screening will be followed up with an arrangement for proper and timely management of diseases detected in the citizens in a coordinated way through the help of Telemedicine consultation and linkage with a higher centre.
Dr Len Kamkhosat Khongsai, DTO Kangpokpi, Dr A Pfuzia, DNO NCD Kangpokpi, Th Prabhabati Devi, DPM and NHM Kangpokpi also spoke on the occasion.
