Rs 2 lakh donated to bereaved family of VDF

VDF Welfare Association said it has been providing financial assistance to the ailing VDF personnel and bereaved families of VDF since its inception

A sum of Rs 2 lakh was donated to the bereaved family of VDF late Asem Rajen on Thursday by VDF Welfare Association Thoubal along with reserved officer inspector Keisham Premkumar Mangang and district headquarter Thoubal cashier Ph Hemba.

A release stated that the VDF Welfare Association under the supervision of SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam handed the sum of Rs 2 lakh to the wife of late Rajen from Thoubal Athokpam. He was posted at Khongjom police station prior to his illness, which he succumbed to last Thursday, it added.

Stating that the bereaved family extended appreciation for the initiatives of the association, the release drew the attention of the authorities concerned to appoint Rajen’s son in his place under die-in-harness.
