In an address at the 15th Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal, newly appointed president Elangbam Sovid Singh highlighted a legacy of service and a commitment to future impact.
The event, held on Saturday at the Hotel Classic Grande in Imphal, also witnessed the esteemed presence of Minister Konthoujam Govindas as chief guest.
The newly installed president Sovid extended tribute to the club’s enduring dedication to Rotary International’s values of service above self, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership.
Reflecting on the club’s 15-year journey, he recounted how their projects have touched countless lives by providing educational support, healthcare services, promoting environmental sustainability, and vocational training.
“This milestone is not just a celebration of our past presidents and their achievements, but also a reminder of our continuous journey ahead,” he remarked. He also emphasised that the installation ceremony was an opportunity to renew their commitment to serving the community with even greater zeal and dedication.
In his closing remarks, Sovid quoted a profound saying, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
He interpreted this by stating in this context, Rotary becomes the light in everyone’s life, becoming the solution to all problems.
