Road safety campaign held in Ukhrul

The campaign was launched with an aim to create awareness on road safety rules, signs and measures to minimise and contain accidents and ease road traffic congestion.

The District Administration, Ukhrul in collaboration with the District Police, ADC and District Transport embarked on a Walkathon-cum-Awareness Campaign from Mini-Secretariat, Ukhrul to Ukhrul Higher Secondary School on Wednesday.

The campaign was launched with an aim to create awareness on road safety rules, signs and measures to minimise and contain accidents and ease road traffic congestion.

Signs and miking on road safety regulations were held for information of all citizens. The awareness campaign also encourages the general public to carry valid registration certificates, licences and abstain from reckless and drunken driving which can cost lives.

The road safety awareness drive was attended by DC Krishna Kumar, SP Ningshem Vashum, ADM Chunglenmang, SDO Ukrhul Suranjoy Maibam Singh, AC to DC A Rohini and district transport officer Wahidur among many other officers from various government departments.
