The Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi district personally visited the affected site and assured land compensation amount before December 25 this year. The assurance was made in September this year but it hasn’t been fulfilled till date, Sitlhou said.

He continued that the landowner didn’t inform villagers about the amount to be compensated. Such irresponsible acts of the authority concerned is highly condemnable which has resulted in them banning the construction work along this stretch, the GS of KIM said, adding that the notice was issued to construction sites in this regard.
