The Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) on Wednesday appealed for swift completion of the ongoing construction of Tamenglong to Mahur road.
A release issued by RNSOM president Daichui Gangmei and general secretary, Jeanthui Panmei appealed to all sections of the society to co-operate with the project which will be connecting the remotest parts of Tamenglong district. The project has been a long desire of the people of Tamenglong, it stated.

It further lamented that some individuals are allegedly creating havoc and disturbance to the ongoing construction project in the guise of fair land compensation. Such an act is completely irrational and shows the lack of sensible decisions, it condemned.
It warned that attempting to further delay the project will be considered as an obstruction to the cherished decade-long developmental dream of Tamenglong districts. It maintained that the National Highway project of Tamenglong-Mahur road must be carried on completely without any disturbances from landowners and any parties or agencies.
It further urged the concerned state department and the Centre to look into the demands of the affected landowner for fair compensation at the earliest in the larger interest of the people.

It also thanked Chief Minister N Biren Singh; Water Resources Minister, Awangbow Newmai; former DC Armstrong Pame; DC Tamenglong L Angshim; SDO Tousem, Paul Nungsha as well as the affected Villages and others for their wholehearted devotion towards completion of Tamenglong-Mahur road.
RNSOM appealed to all sections of people of Tamenglong, civil organisations, villages, chairman associations and land owners etc. to extend their cooperation to the State Government, MORTH, NHAI Ministry and Union Government for swift completion of the said National Highway, it added.
