RIMS refutes allegations against director

Legal action will be pursued to protect the reputation of the director and the integrity of RIMS, Imphal if Rajkumar Somorjit continues to make such false allegations, RIMS Media cell stated.

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Saturday refuted the claims made by Rajkumar Somorjit, son of former chief minister (L) RK Ranbir against RIMS director Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma, as unfounded allegations.

A release issued by RIMS Media cell stated that Rajkumar Somorjit has falsely represented himself as the vice president and spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh and accused the director of allegedly being involved in corruption and of supporting the Congress party through donations in the 18th Lok Sabha elections which was held earlier this year.

These allegations have been made in letters addressed to JP Nadda and Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister and the then Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and using party BJP, Manipur Pradesh official letterheads, it mentioned.

BJP Manipur, president A Sharda Devi has clarified that Rajkumar Somorjit is not associated with BJP Manipur Pradesh in the capacities he claims, it stated.

It alleged that Rajkumar Somorjit wrote a letter to the then Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya, seeking contract works from RIMS, Imphal to support the BJP Candidate in the last Lok Sabha election.

RIMS authority firmly states that these allegations are baseless and are an attempt to tarnish the image of Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma, it stated.

Legal action will be pursued to protect the reputation of the director and the integrity of RIMS, Imphal if Rajkumar Somorjit continues to make such false allegations, it added.

RIMS organises cleanliness drive

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised a cleanliness drive under Swachhta Action Plan 2024-25 on Saturday in association with the 85 Bn. CRPF, Lamphelpat, Imphal.

The cleanliness drive-l was executed starting from the north eastern side boundary wall (near BSNL office) upto Paediatric Emergency Gate No. 3 side via main gate and from main gate upto Jubilee Hall, RIMS, Imphal, stated a release.

RIMS director professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, medical superintendent, RIMS Hospital, professor N Sanjib, principal of dental College, RIMS, professor Y Govindaraj, nodal officer, SAP2024-25/Kaya Kalp, RIMS, Imphal,doctors, staff of RIMS, staff from CRED and MSS took part in the cleanliness drive, it stated.
