Justice MV Muralidaran of the High Court of Manipur has directed Lamphel police station officer-in-charge and their men to refrain from interfering with a woman who is running a tea stall at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Imphal till next hearing.
The writ petition filed by Khangjarakpam Joymala Devi, the owner of the roadside tea stall at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Imphal West, sought an order against police personnel to forbid them from interfering with her roadside tea stall during night time.
As per the petition, she is running a roadside small tea stall at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Imphal and the police directed her not to run the tea stall after 9:30 pm.
It also stated that the police personnel did not have any circular or government order restraining her from running the tea stall, but forcibly directed her to close the tea stall after 9:30 pm.
Therefore, the HC posted the matter for February 7, 2023 and passed an interim order forbidding the police from interfering till the next hearing.
