Refrain from drugs, alcohol: Noney DC Joseph Pauline

The DC urged all the youths to involve more in productive work.

Noney deputy commissioner Joseph Pauline Kamson mentioned that sport is a team work and it keeps people healthy as one can prevent any diseases by doing exercise and develop good and strong muscles through sports. 

Joseph Pauline Kamson was speaking as chief guest during the opening ceremony of 5- Aside soccer knockout tournament at Makhuam- III village common ground in Noney district under the motto of ‘Talk with feet, Play with Heart’ which was organised by Makhuam Students Union. 

The opening ceremony was attended by deputy commissioner Noney Joseph Pauline Kamson and Makhuam Village Authority Chairman Lanranglung Gondaimei as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. 

He further urged all the youths to be involved in productive work and to have new ideas and knowledge to support living standards.

He urged the youths to refrain from indulging or using drugs and alcohol, mentioning that using drugs or alcohol is dangerous in sports. Knowing only theory is not enough but playing with skills is much appreciated by all, he said and appealed to the youths to take up a good example for the people. 

Joseph Pauline also introduced and declared “Fit India Movement for the players and villagers.”  

As part of the programme opening ceremony, an oath taking for the players was led by sports secretary, Makhuam Student Union Gaidim Kamei. Songs and dance by local artists, speech from dignitaries and declaration of sport by chief guest were the main highlights in the programme. 

The tournament was organised by Makhuam Students Union where 32 Football teams were registered for the tournament.

The opening ceremony was attended by Makhuam Village Authority, Makhuam village court, social worker, 10 Assam Rifles, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur, Longmai Luangrean (RNCM), Makhuam Youth Club and Churches leaders. 

As part of the opening ceremony tree plantation drive was also led by chief guest and guest of honour and the programme was concluded with prayer by Gaisinlung Gondaimei, Associate Pastor, Makhuam-3 Baptist Church. 

The opening match was played between Khonglong FC and Haolaijang Host team where Khonglong FC beat Haolaijang host team by 1 goal.
